Who We Are

Indelible Mark Foundation (IMF), founded in October 2012, is a local organization providing personal development support services to underserved communities. Based in Oakland, CA, IMF develops social and life skills exposing youth and adults to varied cultural enrichment opportunities in their local neighborhoods and the global community.

What We Stand For

Our mission is to enhance lives and broaden the scope of the lens through which the world is viewed, through discovery, exploration, and exposure implemented using life coaching services, travel experiences and excursions.

Our vision is to help you discover and explore your passion, live your dreams and make your Indelible Mark!

What We Do

IMF provides support and assistance to communities with limited access to affordable and quality programming. The demographic we serve rarely qualify for gratis and subsidized programs designated for low-income participants. Unlike similar organizations designed for low-income families, we offer developmental support programs, referrals and opportunities to working families. Our programs foster self-esteem, etiquette, communication and leadership skills through life coaching, workshops, camps, weekend retreats and regular meetings. Our programs target young girls, young boys, and women ready for career and lifestyle transition.

IMF Core Values

A
Inspiration We must inspire everyone.
C
Success We strive to be successful and responsible citizens.
B
Living on Purpose We must live life with intent and purpose.
D
Exposure We seek to expose ourselves to all life has to offer.

Mindy Meyers, Ph.D., has been in the field of education for more than 25 years, teaching, writing curriculum design, and mentoring teachers. She loves working with kids and they love working with her. She came up with the idea of an educational cooking afterschool program and camp when she observed how much more children learned when they were taught cultural content while they cooked. By offering up explanations about a food's origins and demystifying cultural differences, she saw how children's engagement grew. "Cooking and eating takes on a different meaning when you understand the back story," said Mindy. "Learning about a country and its culture, then preparing that country's food truly enriches a lesson, and makes the eating and learning experience that much more delicious!"
